Environmental education highlights the interdependent system that we are all a part of. I want to continuously cultivate that system with our future generations.
I’ve spent much of my career sparking curiosity and care for the natural world through hands-on environmental programs and “eco-art” lessons that blend science and creativity. I designed a three-year forest restoration program with Roxhill Elementary School in partnership with Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association, where every class visits their local park to plant trees and tend the growing forest. I’ve also received grants to lead Environmental Arts in the Parks programs, inviting families to create art from natural materials while collecting trash along the way. I worked at an environmental education center Islandwood as a student teacher where we worked with kids who stayed at the camp for the week and experienced the forest in many ways. I also work as a lead instructor at YETI– a youth experiential program where students get to experience kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, camping and much more- many of students it is their first time having these experiences. Fostering appreciation for being alive on this beautiful planet is at the heart of what I do.

With grand support from City of Seattle and 4Culture (make sure to hyperlink), I launched a free Art in the Park program for local families. I wanted to create a welcoming space where families can learn together while building stronger connections to their neighborhood parks. Three months of weekly session, we collaborated on eco-art projects building bio filters, sculpting with plaster and natural materials, painting animals, turning parks trash into sculptures and planting trees. Families gained hand-on experience with environmental stewardship while forming deeper relationships with their local parks and neighbors.
